Negli spazi di un antico mulino hanno trovato posto il ristorante e il B&B “Giu al Mulino” gestito dalla proprietaria Giuliana Moscati. Questa bella struttura dalle mura merlate è situata a Faiano su di una collina da cui lo sguardo sovrasta il territorio circostante e si perde fino al mare.
Il progetto, che ha riguardato il restyling della suite situata al piano mansardato della villa, è un perfetto mix fra colore e arte ed è il mio tributo personale alla bellezza del colore ed alla forza della semplicità.
I colori (blu, bianco e turchese) riflettono i toni luminosi del territorio circostante per una stanza sospesa fra terra e cielo. Lo spazio è semplice e confortevole con le travi di legno dipinte in bianco, la zona del letto, un’area relax, il tavolo vicino all’ampio balcone.
Una parete in cartongesso crea lo spazio per un guardaroba a vista e nasconde una strip led che segue la trave inclinata ed illumina la lunga console laccata turchese realizzata recuperando mobili in legno.
L’arte è la vera protagonista: un dipinto di Bartolomeo Gatto è situato sulla testata del letto e crea l’atmosfera della stanza.
All’esterno della camera, su un piccolo soppalco, trova posto una confortevole zona lettura.
In the Blue
The space of an ancient watermill have been transformed to create a restaurant and "Giù al Mulino" B&B This ancient building is situated in Faiano on a hill that overlooks the plain of Salerno and the Mediterranean sea in the distance.
The project involved the restyling of the suite located on the mansard floor of the villa. The result combines color and art and it is my personal tribute to the beauty of color and the power of simplicity.
The colors (blue, white and turquoise) reflect the bright tones of the landscape for a room suspended between earth and sky. The space is simple and comfortable with the white painted wooden beams, the bed area and the table near the large balcony.
A plasterboard wall creates the space for an open wardrobe and hides a led strip that follows the inclined beam and illuminates the turquoise console made by old wooden furniture.
Art is the true protagonist: a painting by Bartolomeo Gatto is set on the bed set the tone for the entire room.
Outside the room, on a small loft, there is a cosy bookshelf.
